PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn. Berhad, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB),
was incorporated in June 2000 to develop the Merdeka 118 Precinct, as well as landowners and sole custodians of both the Stadium Merdeka and the Stadium Negara. Both stadiums were listed as “National Heritage” sites in October 2005 under the National Heritage Act 2005.
Since then, PNB Merdeka Ventures has carried out a thorough conservation plan, earning Stadium Merdeka the UNESCO Excellence Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation Program (Asia Pacific) in 2008.

Merdeka 118 will be the first tower in Malaysia that will achieve the triple green platinum ratings, namely the Green Building Index (GBI), the Green Real Estate (GreenRE), and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). Since Merdeka 118 is also an early adopter of the ASEAN Green Bond Standards in Malaysia, PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn. Berhad has decided to participate in the issuance of the ASEAN Green SRI Sukuk to support the efforts in providing investment platforms for investors who are looking to deploy capital to be used in a sustainable manner.
